Hi, welcome to the No, Not Crazy podcast. Why are we here? Well, because we've all had those experiences those that make us question ourselves and sometimes, even feel a little crazy.

Invalidation is a pretty universal experience. Directly or indirectly, we are so often told what we should want, believe, or feel. We are told who we should be or quite often who we shouldn't be. We are told that there's something inherently wrong with us, rather than there being something fundamentally right. So, we battle self-doubt, anxiety, confusion, or shame. We struggle to make decisions, or we make ones that don't work out too well. We don’t feel at home in our families, our communities, or in our own skins. We need to hear and speak our voices so we can come back to ourselves and create a world where we feel we belong. We need to begin unraveling this invalidation wound now.

One of the tricky things about invalidation is that it comes in many forms. It may be systemic or interpersonal. It may be deliberate or unintentional. We may realize it's happening, or we may not. We have to talk about this. From relationships to healthcare, from workplaces to spiritual circles, from media influence to societal bias and more, No, Not Crazy will explore the messages we internalize, their effects on our lives, and the ways we can free ourselves from them.

Sharing stories and speaking with experts, we'll dig into the experiences that dismiss our truths and undermine our knowing. We'll figure out how live our lives as we define them.

I'm Jessica Hornstein, an educator and coach. Join me as we learn how to better validate ourselves and others so, together, we can all feel a little less crazy.
